Tax Assessment Assistance
If your property is over assessed you’ll be paying more
than your fair share of property taxes and it could amount to many thousands of
dollars over the next few years. To do anything about it though you must
act quickly. In the Chicago area, the appeal period is generally 30 days
from the publication of your assessment.
If you think that you may be over-assessed, I can help.
I’ve been helping a lot of people just like you with the assessment appeal
process. My name is Bill
Reese and I’m a General Certified Real Estate Appraiser and Illinois
Real Estate Broker with 18 years of experience.
If you are commercial property owner please call for a free
consultation.
Homeowners can research, prepare and file your own appeal too.
The first step is to determine if the value of your home during the assessment
period is lower, equal to, or higher than the assessed fair market value. Each
case is different and it can be a bit tricky, so be prepared to put in some
time. The Grafton Township Assessors Office does their best to be helpful, but
they are sure to be short on resources right now. In order to be successful
with your appeal though, you must have the correct information to support
your position.
I’ve been through the process many times. I know what the
pit-falls are and I’ve saved over-assessed homeowners a lot of money, for
most, many times my full service fee.
Here are my residential property programs:
